Deluxe chocolate brownie recipe! For those who like to indulge!
Ingredients for the deluxe chocolate brownie:
- 185g Dark chocolate
- 185g Butter
- 85g plain flour
- 40g cocoa powder
- 100g milk chocolate
- 3 large eggs
- 275g caster sugar
Deluxe chocolate brownie recipe
1- Slice up the butter into cubes, break up the dark chocolate and chuck them both into a bowl. Get a saucepan and fill with water until a quarter of the way full. Then rest the bowl on top of the saucepan, and put it on a low heat to slowly melt the butter and chocolate. Leave the melted mixture to cool at room temperature.
2- Set your oven on to fan 160C/conventional 180C/gas 4 (most ovens take 10-15 minutes to heat up). Using a shallow 20cm square tin, line the base with non-stick baking parchment. Then add 85g plain flour and 40g cocoa powder into a sieve held over a medium bowl, and shake the sieve so they both run through at the same time
3- Chop the milk chocolate into pieces, rough squares are fine
4- Break 3 large eggs into a large bowl and tip in 275g golden caster sugar. Whisk the eggs and sugar until they get thicker and creamier.
5- Add the cooled chocolate over the whisked egg mixture and fold together carefully, trying to keep the air and bubbles locked in.
6- Hold the sieve over the bowl of eggy chocolate mixture and re-sift the cocoa and flour mixture. Gently fold in this powder as before. Finally, stir in the milk chocolate chunks.
7- Pour the mixture into the tin, and set it in the oven for 25 minutes. If the brownie wobbles in the middle, it’s not quite done, so slide it back in and bake for another 5 minutes.
8- Once done, leave the brownie in a tin until it has cooled enough to lift out without breaking. And there you have it! Slice up the brownies however you like, and serve up!
Warm brownies are great with cold ice cream. The hot and cold textures in a dish really work together. A deluxe chocolate brownie with a refreshing vanilla ice cream is an absolute winner! And for a little extra indulgence add white chocolate shavings on top!
